While serving as Vice President, Head of Business Development, for Superior Mortgage Co, Inc. Max has helped engineer the firm’s collaborative culture that has led to success implementing solutions to assist with the most complex transactions. In addition to his role at Superior Mortgage Co, Inc. Max also serves as the Chief Investment Officer of SM Capital, Inc., a company he founded in 2019.

SM Capital, Inc. is a subsidiary company serving as the commercial real estate and investment arm of parent corporation, Superior Mortgage Co., Inc. In his role of Chief Investment Officer, Max is responsible for overseeing the arranging of both debt and equity financing on behalf of the firm’s clients, while also solidifying relationships with key capital sources. Max specializes in working with sophisticated residential and commercial investors on intricate transactions, utilizing the relationships and resources he’s solidified to offer bespoke solutions tailored to meet the needs of each individual situation.

Max's expertise in finance and capital markets links back to experience he gained while wokring in investment banking in Manhattan's financial district. Most recently at Oppenheimer & Co. (OPY), where he engaged in the analysis of alternative investments such as hedge funds, private equity funds, private credit and non-traded real estate investment funds. Prior to Oppenheimer, Max worked for global investment management and research firm, AllianceBernstein Holding L.P. (AB), on the fixed-income trading and sales desk analyzing the mortgage bond market where he oversaw the firms' proprietary trading portfolio of Mortgage-Backed Securities, (MBS) and Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities, (CMBS).

Max graduated from the Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University with a Bachelor of Business Administration - (BBA) degree in finance. Following his undergraduate degree, Max went on to eventually receive a Master of Business Administration - (MBA) from Columbia Business School at Columbia University.

Beyond the obligations associated with the highly significant nature of his role as CIO of SM Capital, Max also serves as Editor of The REal Insiders Scoop, which is a real estate centric publication he founded, that issues weekly articles publicly available across multiple platforms. Additionally, Max is active in leadership roles within the community, serving on the board of directors for numerous non-for-profit organizations.
